About the Event

So, I've been wanting to post a goal since being asked by my beautiful friend, Megan Jennings Dostal, ages ago. If I'm honest, I've been really intimidated by coming up with the "right" goal and one that I can actually achieve because if you know me, you know I don't say say things I don't mean. Also, the thought of trying to squeeze anything into my overwhelmingly busy life was stressing me out, and I felt like I was setting myself up for failure. Enter global pandemic. Kids' activities, meetings, travel, school were all cancelled, and we were forced to slow down as a family. To reconnect with each other and ourselves. To get back to the basics of self care: Eating right, sleeping enough, exercising, spending time outside, drinking plenty of water, having some down time to read or watch movies with the kids or sit and chat with my husband. So for me, 2020 is about getting back to the basics, and my goal is to hold on these practices when we start adding other activities back into the mix. And I do realize that my experience is a blessed one: We've kept our jobs, we have employers who have been flexible, we can work from home, we've all been healthy. I hope we as a community can soon be done with the bad but can hold onto the good that's come out of all this.
